We offer an introduction to Furoshiki techniques for wrapping objects in fabric, a first approach to this ancient art. You’ll learn about its origins and three of the simplest techniques, which are very easy to integrate into daily life.
LEARNING FUROSHIKI TECHNIQUES
In this workshop, we dive into the ancient Japanese art of Furoshiki, a sustainable way to wrap with fabric. After a brief introduction to its origins, you’ll learn the Ma-Musubi knot and various techniques for wrapping an object with Furoshiki, eliminating the need for wrapping paper and tape.
CREATING BAGS AND HOME DECOR WITH FUROSHIKI
In this workshop, you’ll discover techniques for making bags from a single piece of fabric. You’ll never worry again about forgetting a shopping bag! We’ll also show some knots to use in home decor, giving your home a personal touch.
DEEPENING FUROSHIKI TECHNIQUES
Do you already know the basic techniques of Furoshiki and want more? This workshop is for you! You’ll learn more sophisticated techniques and variations on the techniques you already know.
